Atlas by SigmaTools · Workout tracker

Your AI builds the plan.
Atlas puts it into action.

Connect ChatGPT, Grok, Grok Bot, Muse or Cursor to build and update your training. You approve the changes, and they are applied in the app for you.

Create saved routines. Rework your split. Move workouts on your calendar. Swap an exercise mid-workout. Your assistant prepares the changes in Atlas; you review and approve them here, with no manual re-entry.

Active Premium eligibility is required, including eligible trials. AI connections are available to adults who have completed account setup and accepted the current Terms of Service.

Using the regular Grok app? Use the Grok browser setup. Grok and Grok Bot have separate connection settings.

Before you start: Have your Atlas sign-in ready and check that your assistant account allows custom connectors. For first-time setup, a computer browser is the simplest route. Phone setup and ongoing mobile use depend on your assistant; follow its guide below.

Start here

One Atlas link. Your choice of assistant.

Copy this into your assistant's MCP server URL field, or include it when asking Grok Bot or Muse to add Atlas. Select OAuth if an authentication choice is shown.

https://atlas.sigmatools.io/api/ai/mcp

Start in your assistant and paste this URL into its connector setup. Then sign in on the Atlas permission page it opens. You do not need an API key or an Atlas marketplace listing.

Connect on the web

Set up ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT Plugins. In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins, select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server. This option must be available for your account and allowed by your workspace.
  2. Add Atlas. Enter Atlas as the name, paste this connection URL and choose OAuth with automatic client registration (DCR), leaving optional client ID and secret fields empty. Review ChatGPT's connection warning and select Create as a plugin.
    https://atlas.sigmatools.io/api/ai/mcp

  3. Connect your Atlas account. Follow the sign-in flow, check the requesting app and return address, and select only the permissions you want. Choose Allow selected access.
  4. Install and use it. Find Atlas in your personal plugins and install it. Start a new Work chat, type @ and select Atlas. Try: Check my Atlas capabilities and tell me what training I have shared.

Create the connection on the web and make your first check in a Work chat. You can then use plugins available to your account in Chat or Work, including on mobile. Sign into the same account and workspace. If Add custom MCP server is missing, check your workspace permissions or OpenAI's setup guide.

Connect from your Bot

Set up Grok Bot

  1. Ask your Bot to add Atlas. Open Grok Bot and send the message below. This guide is for Grok Bot, whose custom connectors are separate from the ordinary Grok chat app.Add Atlas as a custom MCP server: https://atlas.sigmatools.io/api/ai/mcp
  2. Use the connection card. Follow the Bot's prompt to add the server, then choose its Connect or Authorize action.
  3. Choose access in Atlas. Sign in, check the requesting app and return address, review permissions and choose Allow selected access. Let the connection flow return to your Bot and wait for its connected confirmation.
  4. Check the connection in a new message. Attach Atlas with @ if needed and ask: Check my Atlas capabilities and tell me what training I have shared. Newly connected tools are available from your next message. Existing connectors are available in the Grok Bot mobile app when you sign into the same account.

Added means installed, not necessarily signed in. If Atlas shows Needs auth or Disconnected, choose Authenticate or Authorize. If sign-in stalls, use Reconnect in Connect apps or Reopen on the connection card.

On mobile, open your avatar and Connect apps to manage connections. For a workout adjustment, follow the workout-sharing steps below, then return to the Atlas app or browser where you shared it to review and apply the change.

Using Grok at grok.com instead? Follow the Grok browser setup below.

Grok · Browser setup

Connect from grok.com.

Grok and Grok Bot have separate connection settings. For Grok, start in your browser and finish in that same browser. A computer avoids the Android app-opening issue described below.

  1. Open Grok connectors. At grok.com/connectors, choose New Connector, then Custom. Custom connectors must be available for your Grok account.
  2. Add Atlas. Use Atlas as the name, paste the MCP server URL below and choose OAuth for authentication.
    https://atlas.sigmatools.io/api/ai/mcp

  3. Choose access and finish setup. Sign in to Atlas, review the requesting app, return address and permissions, then choose Allow selected access. Wait for Grok to confirm the connection. Ask: Check my Atlas capabilities and tell me what training I have shared.

After Grok confirms setup, use the same Grok account on mobile and check that Atlas is available in the conversation. If the phone opens the Grok app before browser setup finishes, use the steps below.

Android opened the Grok app before setup finished?

In Android Settings, open Apps → Grok → Open by default (sometimes called Set as default). Temporarily turn off Open supported links, then restart the Atlas connection at grok.com/connectors in the browser where you began. Restore the setting after Grok confirms the connection. You can also complete setup on a computer.

If Atlas shows Finishing setup or Setup incomplete, the assistant has not finished connecting. You can disconnect that unfinished entry in AI connections before starting again.

Custom connector setup

Set up Muse

  1. Ask Muse to connect Atlas. Start a chat in Muse and send:Connect Atlas as a custom MCP connector: https://atlas.sigmatools.io/api/ai/mcp
  2. Open the connection. Choose Connect on the card Muse provides, then Connect in the connection window to open Atlas sign-in.
  3. Choose access in Atlas. Sign in and check the requesting app and return address. Choose Read my training for workout insights. To plan and adapt workouts, also choose Read my training plan, Read workouts I share and Propose training changes. Select only what you need, then choose Allow selected access.
  4. Start with your training. Wait for Muse to confirm the connection, then ask: Check my Atlas capabilities and tell me what training I have shared. When Muse proposes a change, follow its Atlas review link to inspect and approve it.

For a change during a workout, follow the workout-sharing steps below. Review and apply the proposal in the Atlas app or browser where you shared it.

Cursor · Desktop Agent setup

Connect from Cursor.

  1. Install the Atlas connector. Follow the Cursor desktop steps in our public connector package to install it locally, then reload Cursor. This does not require a marketplace listing.
  2. Authenticate the plugin. In Customize → MCPs, enable the Atlas plugin source and choose Authenticate. If you already added Atlas manually, select the plugin source you intend to use.
  3. Finish in your browser on the same computer. Sign in to Atlas, review the requesting app, return address and permissions, then choose Allow selected access. Keep Cursor open and waiting until the connection completes. If the attempt expires, restart Authenticate in Cursor.
  4. Use Agent mode. Ask: Check my Atlas capabilities and tell me what training I have shared. Review and approve Cursor's requested Atlas tool calls with Run when prompted. To change training, ask it to propose a change, then review and approve that proposal in Atlas.

Use Agent mode for Atlas actions; Ask mode blocked tool execution in our desktop test. Cursor's tool approval and your final approval in Atlas are separate steps.

Cursor's local desktop and Cloud Agents use separate sign-ins. Connecting here does not connect Cloud Agents or establish access from another surface. Connect and check Atlas separately wherever you use it.

Make sure it worked

  1. Wait for your assistant to confirm Atlas is connected. Approving permissions in Atlas is only one step.
  2. In your assistant, select Atlas if needed and ask: Check my Atlas capabilities and tell me what training I have shared.
  3. In Atlas → Settings → AI connections, choose Refresh. A completed connection shows Connected. Finishing setup or Setup incomplete means the assistant has not completed the handoff.

Refresh checks the latest status. It does not reconnect an expired assistant, extend access or delete old entries. Expired, disconnected and incomplete entries are grouped under Past connections.

Make the connection useful

Ask for a change. See it in Atlas.

01 / Plan

Build around what you have.

Here is my home equipment. Propose a four-day split in Atlas using only this equipment.

Add the photo in your assistant. Approve the routine and split proposals in Atlas; they are saved for you.
02 / Understand

Put your logged work in context.

Compare my logged workouts this month with last month. What changed in my sets, reps and weights?

Allow training read access. Up to 60 recent synced sessions from the last 90 days are available.
03 / Adapt

Keep a busy gym from derailing your plan.

The cable machine is taken. Propose a dumbbell alternative for the remaining sets in the workout I shared.

Share the current session first. Approve in the same Atlas app or browser and your remaining exercise plan updates.

Ask your assistant. Approve in Atlas. Get back to training. Approved changes are applied in the app for you. Open the Atlas review link to inspect the exercises, targets or schedule before approving. Completed workouts stay intact.

Choose your permissions

Choose only what you need on the Atlas permission screen:

  • Understand completed workouts: Read my training.
  • Build or adjust routines, splits and calendar days: Read my training plan + Propose training changes.
  • Adapt the workout you are doing: Read workouts I share + Propose training changes. Share that session separately before asking.

Only the permissions requested by your assistant appear. To add missing access later, reconnect from the assistant and review the new request.

See all permission descriptions
Read my training
Synced completed workouts, exercise sets, weights, repetitions, hold times and training summaries from the last 90 days.
Read my routines
Saved cloud routines and their exercise targets.
Suggest routines
Propose new saved routines for me to review in Atlas. Each save requires my approval. This permission does not allow changes to existing routines.
Read my training plan
Read my saved training prescriptions, routine library, splits and selected Atlas calendar days. Private notes are excluded.
Read workouts I share
Read a temporary snapshot of an active workout or a new workout setup only when I explicitly share it from that device. Atlas makes each snapshot available for up to 15 minutes. Information already received by my assistant is handled under its own policies.
Propose training changes
Suggest new or revised routines, routine archiving or restoration, split and calendar changes, and adjustments for one workout. Every change requires my exact review and approval in Atlas. Completed training is never rewritten.

Change a workout while you train

  1. In the Atlas app or browser holding your workout, open Settings → AI connections.
  2. Under Plan this session with your assistant, choose the assistant and tap Share latest session plan. If you have not started a workout, choose Share this device for a new session instead.
  3. Switch to your assistant and ask for the adjustment. For example: That machine is taken. What can I do instead in the Atlas workout I shared?
  4. Return to that same Atlas app or browser. Open AI connections → Training changes, review the proposal, check the confirmation box and select Apply these changes. If a review link opens a different browser, return to the original Atlas app or browser to finish.

A share is a one-time snapshot, available for up to 15 minutes. It does not stream your workout as you train. If the workout changes or the snapshot expires, share the latest session again. Private notes are excluded; information already received by your assistant is handled under its own policies.

One-session adjustments support simple strength workouts. Running or unfinished paused timers, supersets, drop sets and cardio adjustments are not supported. Completed training is never rewritten.

If something gets stuck

I approved access, but my assistant is not connected.

Return to the assistant and browser where you started. Check Atlas AI connections for an unfinished entry and disconnect it if you are starting over. Start a fresh connection from the assistant; do not refresh the old approval page. On Android with Grok, use the app-opening workaround above.

My connection expired or needs more permissions.

Reconnect from your assistant and complete the new Atlas permission screen. Access lasts up to 30 days; Refresh in Atlas does not renew it. You also need active Atlas Premium or an eligible trial.

My assistant cannot see my workout.

Completed workouts need to finish syncing to your Atlas account and require Read my training. A workout in progress requires Read workouts I share and a fresh share from the Atlas app or browser holding it. Saved routines and plans use their own read permissions.

Atlas is connected, but the assistant will not use it.

Check that Atlas is selected and its tools are enabled in your assistant. Review any pending tool approval, and use a mode that permits tools. In Cursor, use Agent mode. Start a new message and ask for your Atlas capabilities before reconnecting.

The assistant suggested something, but Atlas did not change.

Ask it to propose the change in Atlas. Advice in a chat is not a saved change. Review the proposal in Atlas AI connections and approve it. For session changes, use the Atlas app or browser where you shared the workout.

Your training. Your choice.

Your selected data goes to this assistant and is handled under its own policies. Private notes, photos, social content and billing details are excluded.

Access lasts up to 30 days and requires active Premium eligibility, including eligible trials. Your assistant can refresh its connection during that period; after the access period ends, reconnect and review permissions again. You can disconnect in Settings at any time. Disconnecting stops future access and pending routine and training-change approvals; it cannot recall data already received.

Review the assistant's suggestions before using them. Atlas does not verify their suitability for you.
